Video: 110 Billion Dram Projects to Be Implemented in Artsakh; Joint Meeting of Security Councils Held
Under the leadership of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Artsakh Republic President Arayik Harutyunyan, a joint meeting of the Security Councils of the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Artsakh was held in Yerevan.
During his speech, Prime Minister Pashinyan noted: “Esteemed President of the Republic of Artsakh, dear colleagues, this week marks the second day that we are working and discussing matters with representatives of the Artsakh government. I want to inform you that we had a very productive discussion yesterday, as a result of which it has been decided to propose the implementation of a program regarding the construction of residential buildings and necessary infrastructures in Artsakh, amounting to around 110 billion drams.”
The proposal is to implement the program through the “Hayastan” All-Armenian Fund and to finance the program in the following proportion: currently, the Fund has about 58 billion drams from the results of the latest fundraising, and the Armenian government will allocate 52 billion drams.
“This means we will have a capital of 110 billion drams, with which we will implement the housing construction and infrastructure program. We have made several other decisions, which, in essence, should not only realize the provisions of the ‘roadmap’ I published on November 18, 2020, regarding the restoration of normal life in Artsakh, but we must also implement development programs in Artsakh to ensure sufficient and high rates of socioeconomic development. I believe that the decisions made yesterday can be a strong basis for ensuring these developments,” stated Pashinyan.
Harutyunyan welcomed the participants of the meeting and noted that the decision made as a result of the joint consultation held on March 25 to allocate 110 billion AMD for housing construction and infrastructure restoration in Artsakh will play a key role in resolving humanitarian issues and further development in Artsakh.
“Initial projects for the construction of about 4,000 houses have been developed, and specific work and planning have already been carried out. In the coming months, we will also develop projects for the construction of an additional 2,000 houses. In these projects, we always take current realities into account and simultaneously plan land allocation and ensure future employment for residents, and we are also discussing modern models of cooperation,” said the President of the Artsakh Republic, expressing confidence that all priority issues on the agenda will be implemented through joint efforts.
