Pentagon Denies Reports of Missile Strike on U.S. Base in Deir ez-Zor
The U.S. Department of Defense has denied reports of a missile strike targeting the American military base located near a gas field in Syria's Deir ez-Zor province. According to TASS news agency, the official spokesperson for the international anti-terrorism coalition led by the United States, Colonel Wayne Marotto, issued a statement regarding the matter.
"The missile fell hundreds of meters away from U.S. forces. No one was injured, and there was no damage," the American colonel said.
It is worth noting that the missile strike on the U.S. military base was earlier reported by the Al-Mayadeen television channel, which claimed that a missile was fired in the direction of the gas field. The source also mentioned that U.S. servicemen were injured as a result of the incident.
