Israeli Fighters Conduct Reconnaissance Flights in Lebanese Airspace
An Israeli military drone has been spotted in the southern part of Lebanon’s capital, Beirut, according to TASS, referencing LBC television. The Lebanese source reported that in addition to the UAV, Israeli fighter jets simultaneously carried out reconnaissance flights over the areas of Bshamoun, Shweifat, Araboun, and Khalde, which are located south of Beirut.
The Lebanese side has informed the command of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon that Israel has violated the ceasefire regime established by UN Security Council Resolution 1701 along the joint border.
On February 1, forces of the influential Shiite party Hezbollah, which holds significant power in Lebanon, shot down an Israeli UAV in the southern part of the country. The Israeli side justified its reconnaissance flights in Lebanese airspace by the need to monitor the movements of Hezbollah militants.
