It Has Been Revealed Which Country Could Become a Battlefield in Potential War Between the US and Russia

The strengthening of American presence in Norway will have negative consequences for Oslo, according to a report by РИА Новости. The instructor at the Norwegian Armed Forces Academy, Lieutenant Colonel Tormod Heyer, stated that this country could become the focal point for conflict between the two states in the event of military escalation.

“Norway is increasingly participating in the competition between the great powers of Russia and the US. Therefore, the risk that, in the event of conflict or a crisis that spirals out of control, Norway could become a battlefield between the US and Russia is also rising,” Heyer said.

He noted that in recent years, Norway has been assigned the role of a strategically important area in the US forward defense in the Arctic, as it is closest to the “threat that America seeks to avoid most in a crisis—Russia's nuclear forces.”
