U.S. Embassy Staff in Armenia Banned from Using Armenian Airlines
The U.S. Embassy staff in Armenia has been prohibited from utilizing the services of Armenian air carriers. This information comes from a statement posted on the embassy's website, which states:
“In June 2020, the European Union (EU) included all Armenian carriers in the EU air safety 'blacklist' due to concerns regarding the oversight of safety for certified air carriers in Armenia. This decision, which will remain in effect at least until 2022, effectively prohibits all Armenian carriers from flying to EU countries. Considering this assessment, the U.S. Embassy staff in Armenia is banned from using Armenian carriers for official travel. The list includes the following entities: Aircompany Armenia, Armenia Airways, Armenian Helicopters, Atlantis Armenian Airlines, Atlantis European Airways, Mars Avia, and Skyball.”
