Russia May Open Borders with Armenia and Several Other Countries from September 1

The publication of the Russian Association of Tour Operators, "Вестник АТОР," has reported that Russia will initially resume passenger air transport with neighboring countries, according to the "RIA Novosti" agency.

According to sources, from September 1, airlines will start regular flights to a number of CIS countries, including Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Armenia.

Experts suggest that there are several justifications for such a decision. First, the coronavirus situation in Russia has stabilized, and additionally, the production of a Russian vaccine against COVID-19 is already planned to begin in September. The epidemiological situation has also improved in the member countries of the cooperation.

At the same time, these countries are intending to purchase the Russian vaccine, which will also contribute to the restoration of humanitarian and business ties with Russia.
