Young Man Killed by Soldier Was the Only Male Child in the Family: Details

As previously reported, a murder occurred yesterday in the Tavush Province, with some individuals also injured. The deceased was 23-year-old Boris Alipyans from the Aygedzor community in Berd City, while the injured parties are 21-year-old Sarkis Babayan and Davit Tsaghikyan, also from the Aygedzor community in Berd.

According to ArmDaily.am's sources, the incident took place in the village of Artsvaberd. The young men had gone to engage in a 'razborka' (a confrontation or brawl). Both sides involved numerous young people, with participants not limited to just four. However, the dispute escalated into a scuffle and ended in a fight involving stabbings.

Our sources indicate that the deceased, Boris Alipyans, was not directly involved in the fight and had no connection to the cause of the disagreement. He was approached by friends to join them. Boris was not married and did not serve in the army due to a childhood incident that had harmed his health. Residents of his village describe him as a modest and balanced young man.

It’s worth noting that Boris was the only son in his family, having two sisters. It was recalled that police and investigators in Tavush Province detained a young man on suspicion of committing the murder, who serves as a contracted soldier in the RA Ministry of Defense's N military unit.
