Extraordinary Incident in Barekamavan Village: Former Student Opens Fire in Classroom
An extraordinary incident occurred in Tavush province on February 26. In the evening, the police department of Noyemberyan received a call from Astghik Azatyan, the principal of Barekamavan secondary school. She reported that on the same day, around 11:30 AM, during a long break at the school, an individual entered the premises and fired a gun in the history classroom in the presence of students, resulting in damage to the classroom window.
According to Shamshyan.com, fortunately, there were no injuries. The police identified the shooter as Gegham M., a 21-year-old former student of the school and a resident of the village, who was taken into custody at the Noyemberyan police station. After providing an explanation regarding the incident, he was subsequently released.
An employee of the forensic expert group of the Tavush regional police department confiscated the homemade weapon. Materials are being prepared by the investigative department of the Noyemberyan police regarding the incident.
