Breaking: Earthquake in Iran Felt in Yerevan
On February 23, at 09:53 local time (05:53 GMT), the Seismic Protection Territorial Service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Armenia registered an earthquake in Iran, located 25 km southwest of the city of Salmas, at geographical coordinates 38.390° N and 44.600° E. The earthquake had a magnitude of 5.8 and occurred at a depth of 10 km.
The intensity of the underground tremor in the epicentral area reached 8 points. The earthquake was felt in Yerevan with an intensity of 3-4 points, and in the Ararat and Syunik regions with an intensity of 3 points.
