65-Year-Old Resident Charged with Aiding Prostitution
The Investigative Committee of Armenia has reported that a 65-year-old woman from the Shirak region has been charged in connection with a criminal case under investigation by the Shirak regional investigative department.
The woman, who worked as a waitress at a hotel complex in Shirak, allegedly entered into an agreement with several sex workers to facilitate their activities. From February 2019 to February 2020, she allegedly invited these sex workers to the hotel and provided them with rooms in exchange for a commission of 1,000 AMD per transaction.
The Investigative Committee stated that the evidence collected was sufficient to charge the waitress under Article 262, Part 2, Clause 5 of the Criminal Code of Armenia for aiding prostitution.
The investigation is ongoing.
