Masked Robbery Attack: Pensioner Couple Stolen of 15,000 Drams

A masked robbery occurred yesterday in the Ararat region. A 26-year-old woman, Gayane M., reported to the Artashat police that two masked individuals had entered one of the houses in the village of Bardarashen and, under the threat of a knife, stole money from elderly residents before fleeing the scene.

According to reporter Gagik Shamshyan, police and investigative committee staff arrived at the scene. They established that taking advantage of the front door being left open, the two masked individuals entered House No. 9 on Myasnikyan Street in Bardarashen, and attempted to tape the mouth of the 78-year-old homeowner, Svetlana Asiryans, before demanding money from her and her 80-year-old husband, Radvik Asiryans, under the threat of a knife. The pensioner couple was robbed of 10,000 Russian rubles and 15,000 drams.

A criminal case has been opened under the features of robbery by the investigative department. The police and investigative department are undertaking necessary operational-search and investigative joint actions to clarify the identity of the individuals who committed the crime and to find them and the stolen goods.
