More People Entered Armenia Than Exited in the First Half of 2026
In the first half of 2026, the number of people entering Armenia exceeded those leaving the country by 59,300. This was reported by Nelli Davtyan, the acting head of the Migration and Citizenship Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Armenia.
According to her, in previous years, the difference between entries and exits typically ranged from 10,000 to 15,000. A positive figure was also recorded among only Armenian citizens.
During this period, 871,409 Armenian citizens entered the country, while 870,062 left. Thus, the number of entries surpassed the number of exits by 1,347.
“In the first half of the year, the difference in border crossings by Armenian citizens is still positive. This is a unique indicator since it usually improves in the second half of the year, primarily due to seasonal work,” Davtyan stated.
For comparison, in the first half of 2025, the difference in entries and exits of Armenian citizens was -20,065, while in 2024 it stood at -22,893. For foreigners, the difference between entries and exits amounted to +57,953. In the first halves of the previous two years, this indicator was approximately 35,000.
