Murder Occurs in Yerevan; Man Shot Dead
A murder occurred in Yerevan moments ago. Around 22:10, the police station in Erebuni received a report from the Erebuni Medical Center that a man had been admitted in a deceased state.
According to the photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan from the crime scene, an operational group from the Yerevan City Police Directorate, led by Chief Garik Ghukasyan, Deputy Chief Alik Martirosyan, and Head of the Criminal Investigation Department Vahe Musheghyan, arrived at the hospital. An operational group from the Erebuni police division, headed by Chief Vardan Vardanyan, also responded.
The police discovered that the deceased had been transported from the 2nd Street of the Railway Workers. They arrived at the crime scene from the hospital, where they found traces of blood. A team from the Investigative Committee of Armenia's Yerevan Investigative Directorates of Erebuni and Nubarashen, led by Head Hovhannes Poghosyan and First Deputy Garnik Matevosyan, also arrived at the scene.
The police and the investigative division are working to establish the identity of the victim.
Preliminary information indicates that the man was shot dead. Given the severity of the crime, Armen Chichoyan, the prosecutor of the Erebuni and Nubarashen administrative districts, as well as Deputy Prosecutor Armen Muradyan and Senior Prosecutor Vardan Harutyunyan, also arrived on the scene.
