100% Tariff to be Imposed: Trump Signs New Declaration

U.S. President Donald Trump has announced that tariffs will be imposed on the import of drones and their components, including those imported from several key allies of the United States.

According to the declaration signed by Trump, the White House will impose a 100% import tariff on certain drones considered to have specific characteristics that pose a particular sensitivity to national security. A 100% tariff will apply to the import of UAVs (Unmanned Aerial Vehicles) with a maximum takeoff weight of over 25 kg, while a 25% tariff will be levied on those with less weight.

A 15% tariff will be applied to drones and components imported from the European Union, Japan, Liechtenstein, South Korea, Switzerland, and Taiwan, while the rate for drones coming from the United Kingdom will be set at 10%, the White House added.

The U.S. Secretary of Commerce believes that drones and their components from certain foreign companies pose a threat to America's national security, as they could transmit data back to the manufacturer.
