Merkel and Macron Clash

French President Emmanuel Macron and German Chancellor Angela Merkel had a heated exchange during an event commemorating the 30th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall. According to The New York Times, Merkel stated, 'I understand your drive for destructive politics. However, I am tired of picking up the pieces. Time and again, I am forced to glue your broken glass so we can sit down and have tea together.'

Macron responded that he could not participate in the NATO summit in London and act as if nothing had happened. It is noted that their conversation related to Turkey and the United States' actions in Syria.
