4300 Pilots Walk Out Amid Strike at British Airways
The first-ever general strike by pilots at British Airways has the potential to disrupt the plans of approximately 300,000 passengers. Today, 4,300 pilots have walked out, demanding higher wages. They have warned that the strike will continue for two days.
The airline has issued a statement indicating that it is currently unable to predict how many pilots will return to work and how many flights will resume. As a result, British Airways has no choice but to cancel almost all of its flights.
It is known that British Airways operates up to 850 flights daily. The airline intends to resume negotiations with the pilots' union. Meanwhile, British Airways is offering affected passengers the option to rebook their flights or receive a refund for their tickets.
