Tensions in Moscow: Over 200 Protesters Detained

Over 200 participants of an unauthorized protest near the Moscow City Hall have been detained. It is important to note that these figures are not official.

Today, Moscow civil activists are anticipating a protest action that has not been coordinated with the authorities, with participants demanding the registration of independent candidates for the Moscow City Duma elections.

Reports indicate that Ivan Zhdanov, the director of the Anti-Corruption Foundation and an independent candidate in the elections, has also been arrested in Moscow. According to TASS agency, one of the activists used tear gas during the protests, prompting representatives of the National Guard to wear gas masks.
