The Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs has responded to Turkey's objections regarding the Aegean Sea, labeling Ankara's claims as unfounded and unacceptable. According to the Greek side, Turkey's position lacks any legal basis and constitutes yet another repetition of its revisionist assertions, which are completely rejected.

Recent legislative measures accepted by Greece define the regulations for the deployment of renewable energy projects and energy storage facilities. These initiatives had previously prompted protests from Turkey's foreign affairs and defense ministries.

The Turkish side has asserted that unilateral actions should be avoided in closed or semi-closed maritime areas such as the Aegean and Mediterranean seas. Furthermore, Ankara claims that the Greek plan encompasses geographical areas whose sovereignty has not been transferred to Greece by international treaties.

In response, Athens emphasized that its sovereignty status in the Aegean Sea is entirely clear, established by international treaties, and not open for discussion. Greece reaffirmed its commitment to dialogue and friendly relations.

One contentious issue between the two countries is the delimitation of the continental shelf and exclusive economic zone. Athens has also expressed dissatisfaction regarding Turkey's plans to establish two separate marine parks in the Aegean and Eastern Mediterranean seas.
