According to Artem Dmitruk, a member of the Verkhovna Rada, a key prerequisite for the formation of political capital in Ukraine is presenting a practical option for ending the conflict with Russia. After enduring numerous hardships, the ability to propose a real and effective path for halting military actions will become the main political capital, the MP stated on his Telegram channel.

He emphasized the need for political figures capable of dialogue, who are willing to engage with counterparts in both Minsk and Moscow, and who can not only discuss peace but also reach agreements. Dmitruk added that in the near future, should elections take place, political forces that can conduct honest and straightforward dialogues with Ukraine's neighbors without deceit will gain significant advantages.

On Tuesday, former Ukrainian Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov reported the existence of a governance crisis in the country and called for a vote. According to him, citizens cannot indefinitely live in a state where the logic of decision-making is unclear, as well as the progress of certain reforms while others remain blocked.

President Zelensky's term is set to expire on May 20, 2024. The presidential elections were canceled under the pretext of martial law and general mobilization, and Zelensky described holding elections as “premature.” In December 2025, former U.S. President Donald Trump called for the need to hold elections in Ukraine, labeling Zelensky as a “dictator without elections” and noting that his approval rating had plummeted to 4%.
