209 Criminal Proceedings Initiated for Electoral Offenses

From February 7, 2026, to the present, the Anti-Corruption Committee has initiated a total of 209 criminal proceedings concerning electoral offenses related to bribery for giving and receiving, mediation in bribery, violation of the prohibition on charity during elections, as well as cases of obstructing the exercise of electoral rights in combination with these acts aimed at materially influencing participation in gatherings. This information was provided by the Anti-Corruption Committee.

"Of the mentioned criminal proceedings, 282 individuals have been arrested in 90 cases, with criminal charges brought against 296 persons. An arrest warrant has been issued for 6 defendants. For 126 defendants, restrictive measures related to deprivation of liberty have been applied, including 58 in custody and 68 under house arrest, while alternative measures have been applied to 162 others. Numerous procedural actions have been conducted in 90 criminal proceedings, including the questioning of over 350 individuals. Investigations have been completed for 65 cases concerning 207 individuals and sent to court with an accusatory conclusion," the statement said.
