Video: Nikol Pashinyan Certainly Not Innocent, Says Levon Kocharyan on March 1 Events
Levon Kocharyan, a member of the National Assembly from the "Hayastan" faction, addressed the events of March 1 in parliament, stating that it is possible innocent people were arrested or detained at that time, but in his opinion, Nikol Pashinyan was not among them.
"It is possible that innocent people were arrested or detained at that time, I do not dispute that, but one person who certainly was not innocent, in my firm belief, was Nikol Pashinyan," Kocharyan said.
The MP also recalled excerpts from Pashinyan's speeches in 2008, during which the latter called on protesters to have means of self-defense and gather people. According to Kocharyan, if such statements were made today, they would attract a response from law enforcement.
He noted that before the first casualties were recorded, police had also sustained injuries and urged to evaluate the events of March 1 in a comprehensive context.
Kocharyan also criticized the authorities, claiming that today people are being arrested for expressing opinions.
