Criminal Charges Filed Following Anna Hakobyan's Statement

A criminal investigation has been initiated in relation to a statement made by Anna Hakobyan, the wife of the Prime Minister of Armenia. The Investigative Committee has informed Auroranews that this investigation centers on hooliganism using information or communication technologies.

The Committee has also reported that there is an ongoing decision to arrest an individual due to public calls for violence related to another criminal case. This individual has been placed on a wanted list.

It is noteworthy that the Investigative Committee is examining the report received concerning Anna Hakobyan's statement. Earlier, Anna Hakobyan had indicated that following discussions on the topic of domestic violence, she has noticed threats directed at her. She expected that relevant state services would prevent such incidents.

In a Facebook video, Hakobyan urged women not to remain silent about instances of violence and to speak out on the issues.

The Office of the Prosecutor General of Armenia has stated that appropriate action has been taken regarding Anna Hakobyan's statement.
