Human Rights Defender Raises Issue of Armenians Held in Azerbaijan in 250 International Meetings
The Human Rights Defender, Anahit Manasyan, announced during the presentation of the 2025 annual report at the National Assembly that she has raised the rights of Armenians deprived of freedom in Azerbaijan in approximately 250 high-level international discussions and meetings. She emphasized that the key demand is the immediate release of all Armenians held in Azerbaijan.
‘The issues pertaining to the rights of Armenians deprived of freedom in Azerbaijan have been raised by Human Rights Defender Anahit Manasyan during around 250 high-level international discussions and meetings over the years. During the presentation of the 2025 annual report at the National Assembly, she highlighted that in this context, the primary issue is that all Armenians deprived of freedom in Azerbaijan must be released immediately, as this is what international legal values and the logic of the peace process demand,’ the report stated.
