The Ruling Authorities Have Introduced This Unique Phenomenon: Kocharian
During a pre-election rally in Ejmiatsin, Robert Kocharian emphasized that for the first time in the history of Armenia, elections have turned into a struggle for national values, the church, and identity.
At a gathering of the "Armenia" alliance, Kocharian noted that previously elections had not been a battle for identity, the church, and national values, nor had the main discourse been about the choice between war and peace. According to him, this unique phenomenon has been introduced by the current authorities, separating the people from their history, for which they must be held accountable.
During the rally, it was emphasized that Ejmiatsin has long been a guardian of Armenian values, faith, and identity. Alliance member Ishkhan Saghatelyan stated: "Today, our identity is under threat, and the bearer and defender of that identity, the Armenian Apostolic Church, is endangered and targeted. Today, Armenia's territorial integrity is disrupted, sovereignty is threatened, and it has been surrendered to foreigners who, along with the Armenian administration, are fighting against our identity.”
The "Armenia" alliance has presented its six principles: a secure and competitive Armenia, solidarity, a state based on national identity, pan-Armenianism, work, and science.
