Imagine for a Moment That the Prime Minister is a Kalyuga Oligarch: Arayik Harutyunyan
“The proof of the policies pursued by Armenia is the hosting of major political, cultural, sports, and other events in the country,” wrote Arayik Harutyunyan, head of the Prime Minister's staff, on his Facebook page.
“Imagine for a moment that the Prime Minister is a Kalyuga oligarch (it’s hard to imagine), a bloodthirsty oligarch (don’t imagine it), a Belarusian-oriented oligarch (the top of the lords); just don’t imagine it. At best, we would only see cultural days of Nizhny Tagil in Yerevan,” Harutyunyan noted, enumerating several events taking place in Armenia.
“In May 2026, the European Political Community Summit in Yerevan (with participation from around fifty country and international organization leaders); the UN Convention on Biological Diversity COP17 Summit—delegations from up to one hundred countries; the FIFA U-20 World Cup 2029 with about 30 matches hosted in Armenia; the World Weightlifting Championship in 2027 (about 100 countries); the Francophonie 2027 Games (about 50 countries); the 2027 European Gymnastics Championship. The list goes on…”
