Earthquake in Turkey Felt in Armenia
On April 28, at 4:02 PM local time (12:02 PM GMT), a 3.9 magnitude earthquake was registered by the seismic monitoring network of the RA Ministry of Emergency Situations. The epicenter was located 43 kilometers north of the city of Kars in Turkey, at a depth of 10 kilometers, with geographical coordinates of 40.98° North latitude and 43.10° East longitude. The intensity of the underground tremors in the epicentral area reached 5 on the Richter scale.
The earthquake was felt in Gyumri city of Shirak province, as well as in the villages of Amasia, Zarishat, Vahramaberd, and Marmashen, registering an intensity of 2-3 on the scale.
