Driverless Taxi. Cybercab Ready to Conquer Global Market
Tesla has announced the launch of serial production for its Cybercab driverless taxis, aligning with Elon Musk's priorities for the development of autonomous driving technology. The project, which was previously seen as experimental, is moving into a new phase of scaling and commercial investment.
The Cybercab is a fully autonomous vehicle, devoid of a traditional driver’s seat. Designed for urban use and mass passenger transport, the Cybercab is essentially a robot taxi model.
The start of Cybercab’s serial production does not imply that numerous robot taxis will be hitting the roads in the U.S. as early as tomorrow. Nevertheless, Musk fulfilled his promise to investors by initiating the serial production of the Cybercab in 2026.
If the project succeeds, it could significantly change the taxi service market and set a new standard for urban mobility. However, everything still depends on regulatory bodies and their trust in the feasibility of autonomous driving without human intervention.
Tesla plans to produce up to 2 million Cybercabs annually, selling them at a relatively low price of less than $30,000. Simultaneously, the company aims to introduce a subscription model for its autonomous technologies to ensure a steady revenue stream.
