504 km of Roads Constructed, Says Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure
In 2025, a total of 504 kilometers of roads were constructed, renovated, and reconstructed as part of road construction programs. This was announced by Davit Khudatyan, the Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure, during a discussion on the progress and results of the implementation of the Government of Armenia's program for 2021-2026.
According to him, the majority of this work consists of major renovations, totaling 267 km, while 184 km underwent medium repairs, with 57 km, primarily in the North-South section, reconstructed over the past year. Highlighting major projects, the minister singled out the renovation of the Khot-Tagh route, the Ttujur-Navur road, and the Ijevan-Navur-Berd-Aygepar highways.
Khudatyan emphasized that when they refer to the construction of 500 km of roads from the previous year, they do not include works carried out under subsidized projects. “Additionally, last year, another 265 km of roads were constructed and reconstructed under subsidized programs. In 2025, 38 km of intra-community roads were paved, and the renovation of 14 transport infrastructure facilities was also completed last year. The feasibility studies for the renovation of the Pushkin and Dilijan road tunnels have been finalized,” said the Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure.
He informed that construction work on the bypass road has already begun for the Pushkin tunnel, and after the completion of this construction work, renovation of the tunnel will begin.
