Iran Threatens to Block Navigation in the Red Sea
Tehran is preparing to blockade trade routes if the United States does not lift its embargo on Iranian ports. General Ali Abdollahian, a representative of Iran's top military command, has stated that Tehran may halt all types of cargo transit through the Persian and Oman Gulfs, as well as the Red Sea.
This warning, broadcasted on Iranian state television, is directed at the United States, which continues to keep Iranian ports in the Strait of Hormuz blocked. According to the general, the actions of the American side pose a serious threat to Iranian commercial vessels and oil tankers.
Abdollahian emphasized that maintaining the blockade would be viewed as a violation of the current ceasefire regime, and in response, Iranian military forces would not allow any exports or imports through the specified waters.
