No Progress in This Stage of Negotiations, Says Pence
US Vice President Pence has announced that negotiations with Iran have concluded without any agreement. He stated that after discussions lasting approximately 21 hours, the American delegation departed from Pakistan, and the scheduled second day of talks did not take place.
Pence noted that Washington presented 'flexible' proposals, but the Iranian side rejected them and refused to commit to obligations regarding its nuclear program. He emphasized that no progress has been made in this stage of negotiations.
'The bad news is that we were unable to reach an agreement. And I believe this is worse for Iran than for the US,' Pence highlighted.
Meanwhile, in Iran's capital Tehran, officials declared that the US is attempting to achieve through negotiations objectives it hasn't been able to realize militarily. The Iranian side also rejected demands related to uranium enrichment and the Strait of Hormuz.
At the same time, the Iranian authorities did not rule out the continuation of negotiations, indicating that meetings may resume on Sunday if both sides are willing to engage in new discussions.
