Arman Tsarukyan Plans to Test His Skills in Another Sport
Arman Tsarukyan, ranked second in the UFC lightweight division, has shared his long-term career goals, considering a transition to boxing. After setting all possible records in the leading global promotion, Tsarukyan intends to compete in professional boxing and test his abilities there.
In an episode of the "Full Send Podcast," the Armenian fighter detailed his ambitions: "In about 5-6 years, when I finish my time in the UFC and set all the records, I want to have 3-4 boxing matches, just like Jake Paul is doing now. Some in the UFC are worried that I might take the title and leave immediately, but where should I go? Dana White and I have a great relationship. I want to be a champion and stay where I have been helped to grow and become a star."
Speaking about records, the 29-year-old athlete emphasized his wish to exceed the title defense statistics: "I want to defend the title as many times as possible. For example, Islam Makhachev has defended it 4 times, and I will do it 5 or 6 times. Of course, I’m not young anymore; I have about 6-7 years left in sports. My goal is to earn significant money, become the best fighter in the world, and then retire."
Regarding Makhachev, who moved to the welterweight division at the end of 2025 and won the championship belt in that division, Tsarukyan believes a rematch is no longer likely: "The fight is already unrealistic because, after 1-2 matches, he will probably retire. In just one year, I will completely dominate this sport and become the face of the UFC. I only need the title."
Additionally, Tsarukyan expressed a desire to meet Charles Oliveira again: "He is ranked third and holds the BMF belt. I believe that title suits me much more than Oliveira," Tsarukyan concluded.
