Impassable Roads Exist: Situation on Armenia's Highways
The Rescue Service reports that the highways in Armenia are mostly passable. However, the roads leading from the "Amberd" high mountain meteorological station in Aragatsotn province to the Amberd Fortress and the Keri Lake are closed.
The Dilijan and Spitak serpentine roads, as well as the Vanadzor-Dilijan highway, are closed for trucks with trailers. The Vardenyats pass is impassable for all types of vehicles. The Gyumri-Bavra and Baghanis-Jujevan highways are impassable for trucks. The stretch from Apnagyugh to the Spitak serpentine is also difficult for trucks with trailers.
Drivers are urged to travel exclusively with winter tires.
Regarding Lars, according to information received from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia's Emergency Management Department and the Russian Federation's Emergency Situation Ministry Crisis Management Center in North Ossetia, the Stepantsminda-Lars highway is open for all types of vehicles.
