Trump Threatens Countries Supplying Weapons to Iran
U.S. President Donald Trump has announced that any country supplying military equipment to Iran will face a 50% tariff. He made the statement on his Truth Social platform, emphasizing that the measure will take effect immediately and without exceptions.
According to Trump, the restrictions will apply to all goods exported from those countries to the U.S. His phrasing indicates that this move aims to limit Iran's military capabilities.
Previously, the U.S. President had noted that Washington is ready to resume strikes against Iran if necessary agreements are not reached with Tehran. At the same time, he did not rule out the possibility of continuing negotiations, stating that options for tariff and sanction relief are being discussed.
Earlier reports indicated that the U.S. and Iran had reached an agreement for a two-week ceasefire. According to Trump, Iran has presented a proposal consisting of 10 points that could serve as a basis for further negotiations.
