The World Took a Step Back from the Edge of the Abyss: Vardan Voskanian
“The Middle East and the world took a step back from the edge of the abyss,” wrote Iran expert Vardan Voskanian.
“The two-week ceasefire agreement was reached with the mediation of Pakistan, with zero concessions from Iran. Geopolitically, there is even a significant achievement because everyone knows that navigation through the Strait of Hormuz was not dependent on Iran before the war, but now it is that very country which opens or closes it. For the USA and Israel, it became clear that breaking Iran through war is impossible, and it is also impossible to achieve regime change or abandon nuclear and missile programs via that route, or to stop supporting Iran-friendly forces in the Middle East, etc.
Moreover, it is noteworthy that the ceasefire agreement compels Israel to cease attacks against the Lebanese Hezbollah as well. The ancient Iranian civilization neighboring Armenia will continue its course, and the lessons of this war may also be instructive for us,” Voskanian wrote.
