Oil Prices Plummet After Trump's Statement
Global oil prices have seen a significant drop following President Donald Trump’s announcement regarding the postponement of U.S. strikes on Iran’s energy infrastructure. According to trade data, prices have fallen by approximately 9-10%.
The price of Brent crude for June futures decreased by 8.69% to $97.16 per barrel. During trading, this figure dropped below $100 for the first time since March 19.
Meanwhile, American WTI crude May futures also recorded a significant decline, with prices decreasing by 9.93% to $88.48 per barrel.
The market reaction is linked to expectations of a potential easing of tensions in the Middle East. Investors view such announcements as a factor that may reduce concerns over supply disruptions and put downward pressure on prices.
