Gagik Tsarukyan Responds to Nikol Pashinyan's Statements
We are strong not by words but by deeds. This was stated today, on March 23, by Gagik Tsarukyan, leader of the Prosperous Armenia Party (BHK), during a conversation with journalists in front of the court, responding to Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's regular mockery of the opposition's claims of strength.
In response to Pashinyan's suggestion to opposition leaders to answer whether the rock is alive or not, Tsarukyan remarked: “We live in our country; there are so many issues in front of our country that seeing a person who has a family, children, and parents in this defeated, disgraced, and impoverished state, with the population under debt, with 2 million 450 thousand borrowers and inflation higher than that of Georgia and other places, is it appropriate for Tsarukyan to speak about petty, trivial matters?”
Regarding the Prime Minister's statement that if the ruling Civil Contract Party does not have a constitutional majority in the next National Assembly, then there will be a disastrous war in September, BHK leader replied: “So let me answer your question in a real, natural, understandable, and visible way. Today, no one wants war; peace is not something we should speak about theoretically. When Azerbaijanis are sitting on all the heights and dictating we shall give this, that we shall do this, that our troops will decline, and we shall not take weapons, they become stronger... there is no peace there, that's dictation. If today we are given an opportunity to decide, all the prerequisites exist, we must immediately ensure peace. We will sign an agreement with 3, 4, 5 influential and powerful states as allies, and there will be no one who dares to cross that territory,” he stated.
When asked who the BHK's candidate for Prime Minister is, he answered: “Our prime minister's candidate is neither from the old nor the new. He is the future Prime Minister, and today our country needs the future Prime Minister. I stand by what I said; he will not be from the old or the new. When the time comes, we will announce the name,” he said.
