New Change: Property Tax on Electric Vehicles to Decrease
The government of Armenia has made a decision in its meeting today to propose amendments to the current registration regulations for electric vehicles. The issue was presented by Minister of Internal Affairs Arpine Sargsyan, who stated, "I must note that the proposal for the amendment came from our citizens. This concerns maximum or peak power and the second point relates to stable power. Globally, priority is given to stable power, which allows you to drive the car for extended periods without damaging the battery. This is the generally accepted criterion; peak power, which contributes to acceleration for very short periods, is often marketed as higher than the real picture reveals. In our domestic regulations, as a principle, we have taken the peak power measurement, while the EAEU regulations are such that only those electric vehicles that have an electronic passport are registered in the EAEU registry, indicating only the stable power parameter," said Minister of Internal Affairs Arpine Sargsyan.
