VIDEO: Criteria for Misleading Advertising Established - Papoyan
Criteria for misleading advertising have been established, along with the circumstances under which comparative advertising is permissible. For example, if an advertisement claims that a certain dietary pill will help lose 10 kilograms in 10 days without scientific justification or without indicating that the result also depends on diet and physical activity, then the advertisement may be considered misleading.
This was announced by the Minister of Economy, Gevorg Papoyan. He added, “Regarding comparative advertising, for instance, if it is stated that a certain toothpaste cleans teeth twice as effectively as others, such a claim is only permissible if it is based on accurate and verifiable data. Otherwise, it will also be considered misleading.”
