Putin Removes Sergey Ivanov from the Composition of Russia's Security Council
Russian President Vladimir Putin has removed Sergey Ivanov from the composition of Russia's Security Council. The corresponding decision was published in a presidential decree.
Previously, Ivanov held the position of the president's special representative for environmental activities, ecology, and transport issues. He was set to serve in this role until February 4, 2026.
Throughout the years, Sergey Ivanov has also held various other high-ranking positions. He has led the staff of the Russian president and has served as the country's Minister of Defense.
The decree does not provide additional clarifications regarding the reasons for the termination of Ivanov's powers.
