Pashinyan on Addressing Russia Regarding the Operation of Railways
Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced that Armenia has submitted a written request to Russia regarding the operation of railways. According to him, Armenia is not only ready but also willing to cooperate with its Russian partners to deepen collaboration on the unblocking of regional transport routes.
"We are not only willing but also want to cooperate with our Russian partners to deepen our cooperation on the unblocking of regional transport routes. We have submitted a written request; to be honest, at this moment, I do not know if there is a written response or not. But overall, we are receiving positive signals. We hope that the process will accelerate," he said.
The Prime Minister noted that in January, representatives of Armenia and Azerbaijan visited the railway section between Yeraskh and Sadarak. "Processes are underway, and we cannot halt regional processes," he mentioned, adding that they hope their Russian counterparts will not delay.
He emphasized that the same applies to the Akhurik section. Pashinyan noted that if the Russian partners do not wish to make that investment for some reason, the Armenian side will take back the respective sections. "And we will do it ourselves," he stated.
