Religious Discrimination Against Armenian Prisoners in Baku, Says Siranush Sahakyan
Human rights defender Siranush Sahakyan announced at today's press conference that religious discrimination is being expressed against Armenian prisoners held in Baku. According to her, while some books are allowed, it is forbidden to transfer the Bible to both Ruben Vardanyan and other detainees.
Sahakyan also noted that all religious symbols have been confiscated, and in some cases, even the religious tattoos on the prisoners' bodies have been burned. According to the human rights defender, this indicates that Christian identity is a factor in the ill-treatment of Armenian detainees.
