Iranian Authorities Have Taken Control of the Situation Related to Protests
Iranian authorities have taken control of the situation related to protests in the country. This was stated by Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi.
“The situation is under control,” said the foreign minister.
Protests in Iran began in late December, amid the devaluation of the local currency. These have been accompanied by increased security measures, including the use of tear gas and non-lethal weaponry. Protests have spread to more than 60 cities across 25 provinces, with the largest demonstrations taking place in Tehran.
