Ukraine Peace Agreement Will Require Concessions, Says US Secretary of State
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio believes that any agreement to end the conflict in Ukraine will require concessions from both sides, and such an outcome may even be 'unfair', according to Fox News.
“Any negotiations to stop the war will require giving from both sides, not just taking. Essentially, no side will get 100 percent of what it wants. Each side will have to make certain concessions,” Rubio stated.
He noted that territorial issues will inevitably be part of that conversation. “This is not easy, and it may even be unjust, but it is what is necessary to end the war,” he added.
Rubio emphasized that “the final decision on what these lines will be rests with Russian President Vladimir Putin and the Ukrainian side. We will be there to facilitate and make it possible,” he concluded.
