Prosecutor General's Office and Investigative Committee Covering Up Theft: Gegham Manukyan
Armenian National Assembly member Gegham Manukyan has made a statement: “It has been 19 days since the Prosecutor General's Office of Armenia and the Investigative Committee of Armenia have been covering up a theft.”
“I am compelled to utilize this public press release to raise awareness about the illegal actions of the investigative bodies that serve the current government, which have left me standing before a humiliating fact for 19 days,” he added.
As previously reported, in the early hours of July 10, 2025, a large group of officers from the Investigative Committee and the police entered the apartment considered to be the property of the deputy, aiming to search for his son, Taron Manukyan, who was residing there at the time. He was later released.
Regarding the confiscation of my mobile phone, as a member of the National Assembly of Armenia, I have submitted a report of a crime to the Prosecutor General for the second time, signaling that, “Almost two weeks have passed, but I have not received any response or reaction from the Prosecutor General, which is also a violation of the law. I have not received any legal basis for the confiscation of my mobile phone, which is effectively theft,” Manukyan stated.
