Archbishop Bagrat Files Claims Against Politicians in Court
Archbishop Bagrat Galstanyan, currently in custody, has filed claims in court against political figures for non-material damage caused by insult and defamation. This was reported by Hetq.
He is demanding approximately 6 million AMD in compensation from Vahagn Aleksanyan, a member of the Civil Contract party and a member of the National Assembly, and 3 million AMD each from Health Minister Anahit Avanesyan, the leader of the Republic party Aram Sargsyan, Ani Khachatryan, a member of the council elected from the same party, former MP Styopa Safaryan, and political scientist Harutyun Mkrtchyan.
It is worth noting that the Investigative Committee has charged Archbishop Bagrat with 'committing terrorism and usurping authority,' and he, along with several participants in the resistance, as well as political figures and clergy, have been arrested. Motions for detention have been submitted to the courts, and many have already had this measure applied.
