Seven Individuals Arrested in Preparation for Terrorism Incident
The Investigative Committee of Armenia has reported that a significant number of investigative and procedural actions have been carried out in connection with the preparation for terrorism, as well as the illegal circulation of firearms, their main components, military ammunition, and other materials, devices, and items. This is in accordance with Article 43-308, Part 1, and Article 335, Part 1 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia.
As a result of numerous searches carried out at several addresses, an electric detonator intended for remote activation, its component parts, a combat grenade, a combat grenade fuse, gunpowder, radio communication devices, and other items of interest for the investigation were discovered.
“Urgent investigative and procedural actions are being carried out. Currently, 7 individuals have been arrested, one of whom has been subjected to public criminal prosecution in accordance with Article 43-308, Part 1 of the Criminal Code (preparation for terrorism). The preliminary investigation continues,” the statement from the Investigative Committee noted.
It is worth recalling that starting early in the morning, the Investigative Committee and a masked group from the National Security Service stormed the homes of members of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation.
