Two Strong Earthquakes Occur in Russia
Today, two significant earthquakes occurred near the eastern shores of the Kamchatka Peninsula. This was reported by the Kamchatka branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences' geophysical service.
The first earthquake, with a magnitude of 5.1, struck at 12:16 PM Kamchatka time (3:16 AM Moscow time). The second earthquake, measuring 4.6 in magnitude, was recorded at 12:25 PM.
The epicenters of the seismic events were located 73 and 78 kilometers southeast of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, in the waters of Avacha Bay. The foci were at depths of 58 and 56 kilometers beneath the sea floor.
