Several Airports in Russia Halt Operations
The Federal Air Transport Agency of Russia, known as Rosaviatsiya, has announced temporary restrictions on the acceptance and departure of aircraft at the airports of Astrakhan, Vladikavkaz, Volgograd, Grozny, Kaluga, Saratov, and Ulyanovsk.
The Russian Ministry of Defense reported that unmanned aerial vehicles were destroyed in the Volgograd, Kaluga, Rostov, and Saratov regions, according to Kommersant.
Artyom Korenyako, a representative of Rosaviatsiya, stated in a Telegram post that as of early this morning, temporary restrictions on airport operations have been introduced. This decision was made to ensure the safety of flights.
According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, on the night of February 15, air defense forces destroyed 17 drones in the Volgograd region, 12 in Kaluga, 9 in Rostov, and 2 in Saratov.
It has been reported that operations have since resumed at the Volgograd, Kaluga, Saratov, and Ulyanovsk airports.
