Yerevan Among the World's Most Polluted Cities
It turns out that Yerevan is one of the most dangerous cities in the world in terms of air pollution. This was mentioned by lawyer Varazdat Harutyunyan on his Facebook page.
In cases of such high levels of air pollution, the WHO recommends wearing masks and going outside only when absolutely necessary.
“There are many reasons, but the Yerevan mayor has chosen the least significant one for himself—'oil-burning' vehicles—and wants to combat them. Of course, he will not address either the wild construction or the replacement of giant trees with small saplings, as he is the one who signed off on those construction permits and initiated the removal of trees,” noted Harutyunyan, reminding of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's words years ago, who declared that by October 10, 2020, 10 million trees would be planted in Yerevan as a symbol of the unity of 10 million Armenians.
