Armenian Boxer Erik Arstamyan Defeats Azerbaijani Rival
Armenian boxer Erik Arstamyan secured victory against his Azerbaijani rival, advancing to the semifinals of the World Youth Boxing Championship and ensuring at least a bronze medal.
In the quarterfinals for the 57 kg weight category, held in Budva, Montenegro, Arstamyan won 3:2 against Tagi Nasibov of Azerbaijan. The 17-year-old boxer was very active in the first round, but his opponent's punches were hitting their mark. The judges awarded the victory to the Azerbaijani boxer.
In the second round, Erik Arstamyan applied more pressure and transitioned to counterattacks. Four of the ring judges gave the victory to the Armenian boxer, prompting boos from the audience. In the third round, the young boxer continued his aggressive assault, ultimately sealing his win.
